GET OUT THE VOTE
Throughout 2008, Voces de la Frontera worked hard to increase voter registration and turnout in key target areas in Milwaukee and Racine.
In addition to registering new voters, Voces de la Frontera put great energy into encouraging and educating the community about the importance of making their vote count.
Our 2008 Get Out The Vote Drive continued our tradition of encouraging and supporting increased civic participation, through citizenship classes, voter education and grassroots organizing.
Myths & Facts
Myth: Immigrants don't want to learn English or become Americans
Fact: Within ten years of arrival, more than three quarters of immigrants speak English well. Demand for English classes far exceeds supply. More than a third of immigrants are naturalized citizens.
